WORKSHOP
Using devised theatre exercises as both a way to network and instantly create a short film idea with fellow industry professionals. Focusing on this year’s theme of Awakening, we will collaboratively work in small groups getting to know each other while skill sharing over the course of a few hours.
About Instructor:
Instructor: Tanya Perez
Tanya Perez is a Nuyorican playwright, performer, and filmmaker exploring the human condition through dark comedies. Notable TV and film credits include Orange Is the New Black, Jessica Jones, Blue Bloods, Madam Secretary & Hal Hartley's Ned Rifle opposite Parker Posey. As a filmmaker, she was a finalist at the Women in Comedy HBO Insider Competition twice and has won Best Actress at Story Mode Shorts Festival and Best Actress at Outlanta Con. CSIFF24 Official Selection filmmaker Danae Grandison ("The Bed Head") and Unproduced Screenplay Semifinalist Iraisa Ann Reilly ("Living With Mi Familia") will pitch their original scripted film/televison projects to an esteemed committee of industry professionals: Oluwaseun Babalola , Janaye Coleman, Sherando Ferril, Melissa Gelineau, Steve Harper, Viktoria I.V. King, Thomas H. Stewart.
Following each pitch the panelists will give the writers feedback. Panelists will have the option to offer to mentor the artist and provide them with strategies to improve your pitch.
The panelists will then decide who should receive the event prize: a professionally crafted Pitch Deck for their film.

About Instructor
Johntrae Williams is the Founder and Executive Director of the Central Pennsylvania Film Commission, which oversees entertainment industry partnerships while branding Central PA as a hub for in-demand creative talent and a resource for the film industry.
Special Guest: Clarence Rolle
Clarence Rolle obtained degrees in Mass Media and Journalism from University of The Bahamas and Clark Atlanta University. He later worked as a journalist in The Bahamas and the United States but now serves as Commissioner of the Bahamas Film Commission. He has written stage plays and two feature films that premiered in The Bahamas. He also serves as a vice president of the Bahamas Olympic Committee.

Kick off to the 3rd Annual Conch Shell International Film Fest with the percussive rhythms of Okai Musik, followed by founder Magaly Colimon-Christopher's Welcome Speech.
At this year's opening ceremony Conch Shell International Film Fest will pay tribute posthumously to Jamaican American performing artist Frank Alvin Silvera.
We will then screen the world premiere of "The American Theatre of BEing " a celebration of Mr. Silvera's contributions to film and theatre. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion (details below).
C. Truth (Thermal Soundwaves Podcast) will lead a post screening discussion about The American Theatre of BEing and Jamaican American Frank Alvin Silvera lasting impact on American film and television with acclaimed performing artists Laiona Michelle (Artistic Associate Director George Street Playhouse), Samual Smith, Lawrence Evans, Donei Hall and cultural historian Carolyn Grimstead.
